Do Not Sell My Personal Information

Last updated: 03/10/2026

We’ll keep this one short and sweet — Gander Marks does not sell your personal information. Not now, not ever. We don’t rent it out, trade it, or hand it over to data brokers. Your data is used to run our business and serve you better, and that’s it.

But we also know that “we don’t sell your data” is easy to say and harder to verify. So this page exists to explain your rights in detail, give you full transparency about how your information is handled, and provide you with a clear way to take action if you want to.

Why This Page Exists

If you’re a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) — and its amendment, the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA) — gives you specific rights over your personal information. One of those rights is the ability to tell businesses: “Don’t sell or share my personal data.”

Even though we don’t sell your data, we want to make sure you have an easy, accessible way to exercise that right. That’s what this page is for.

Our business address is located in San Francisco, California, so these laws apply directly to how we operate.

What Counts as “Selling” Under CCPA

Under the CCPA, “selling” doesn’t just mean exchanging data for money. It also covers sharing personal information with third parties for cross-context behavioral advertising — even if no money changes hands.

Here’s where we stand on that:

We use tools like Google Analytics and Meta (Facebook/Instagram) Pixel on our website. These tools collect certain browsing data — like pages you visited, how long you stayed, and what device you used — through cookies and similar tracking technologies. Under the broadest interpretation of the CCPA, this type of data sharing with advertising platforms could be considered a “sale” of personal information, even though we don’t receive any payment for it and the data is used solely for analytics and ad performance measurement.

That’s why we’re giving you the option to opt out — so you’re fully in control.

What Information May Be Shared

When you visit our website, the following types of information may be collected by third-party tools through cookies and tracking technologies:

Your IP address and general location data. Browser type, device information, and operating system. Pages visited, time spent on pages, and click behavior. Referring URLs — where you came from before landing on our site. Interaction data used for advertising performance measurement.

This information is not linked to your name, email, phone number, or order details. It’s primarily used in aggregated or anonymized form to help us understand how people find and use our website.

We do not share your name, email address, phone number, shipping address, billing information, or order history with any third party for advertising or marketing purposes.

How to Opt Out

You have several ways to opt out of this type of data sharing:

Email us directly. Send a request to contact@gandermarks.com with the subject line “Do Not Sell My Information.” Include your name and email address so we can process your request. We’ll confirm within one business day and complete the process within 15 days.

Adjust your cookie settings. Most browsers let you block or delete third-party cookies. Here’s how to do it in the most common browsers:

Google Chrome: Settings → Privacy and Security → Cookies and Other Site Data → Block Third-Party Cookies. Safari: Preferences → Privacy → Prevent Cross-Site Tracking. Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Enhanced Tracking Protection → Strict. Microsoft Edge: Settings → Privacy, Search, and Services → Tracking Prevention → Strict.

Use a global opt-out signal. If your browser supports the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal, we will honor it as a valid opt-out request. You can enable GPC through compatible browsers or browser extensions.

Opt out of Google Ads personalization. Visit Google’s Ad Settings page at ads.google.com/settings to control how Google uses your data for advertising.

Opt out through the Digital Advertising Alliance. Visit optout.aboutads.info to opt out of interest-based advertising from participating companies.

What Happens After You Opt Out

Once we process your opt-out request:

Third-party advertising cookies on our site will no longer track your activity (assuming you’ve also cleared existing cookies or adjusted browser settings). You’ll still be able to browse and shop on our website normally — opting out doesn’t affect your ability to place orders. You may still see our ads on other platforms, but they won’t be personalized based on your browsing behavior on our site. Your opt-out preference will be respected going forward, but it doesn’t apply retroactively to data already collected before your request.

Your CCPA Rights at a Glance

As a California resident, here’s a quick summary of your rights under the CCPA:

Right to know — you can ask what personal information we’ve collected about you, where it came from, what we use it for, and who we’ve shared it with. Right to delete — you can ask us to erase your personal data, with some legal exceptions. Right to opt out — you can tell us not to sell or share your personal information. That’s what this page is for. Right to correct — you can ask us to fix inaccurate information we hold about you. Right to non-discrimination — we will never treat you differently, charge you more, or provide a lower quality of service because you exercised your privacy rights.

To exercise any of these rights, email us at contact@gandermarks.com. We may need to verify your identity before processing your request. We’ll respond to verified requests within 45 days, as required by law. If we need more time, we’ll let you know.

Authorized Agents

You can designate an authorized agent to submit a CCPA request on your behalf. The agent must provide proof of authorization — either a signed written permission from you or a power of attorney. We may still contact you directly to verify your identity before processing the request.

How We Verify Your Identity

When you submit a request, we need to make sure it’s really you. Depending on the type of request, we may ask you to:

Confirm the email address associated with your order or account. Provide your order number or other transaction details. Answer questions that help us match your identity to information we already have on file.

We do this to protect your data from unauthorized access — not to create hurdles.

Updates to This Page

We may update this page from time to time as privacy laws evolve or our practices change. Any updates will be posted here with a revised “Last updated” date.
